The TaxPayers' Alliance Guide to the New Cabinet

The TaxPayers' Alliance Guide to the New Cabinet has been released this morning. A decade spent attempting to improve public services with huge amounts of new spending instead of genuine reform has left dismal failures on the record of every one of them.

I think part of the problem in some public services is _too many_ half-baked reforms. The traditional professional authority of teachers and doctors has been eroded. This is not just something that happened post-1997 but something the previous Tory government did as well. An athmosphere of permantant change and reform, especially when these are reversed soon afterwards, can not be good for any service.
